Trained. Trusted.
Patient-First.

Dr. Meghana Prakash is a qualified anaesthesiologist with deep clinical expertise in Regional and Spinal Anaesthesia. She completed her medical training at two of Bengaluru's respected institutions — bringing together strong academic fundamentals and hands-on clinical experience.

Her philosophy is simple: great anaesthesia care is not just about keeping patients unconscious during surgery — it's about keeping them safe, well-informed, and comfortable through every step of their surgical journey.

With her specialisation in regional and spinal techniques, many of her patients benefit from targeted nerve blocks that reduce systemic drug load, enable faster recovery, and minimise post-operative pain — leading to a smoother surgical experience overall.

Dr. Meghana takes time to understand each patient's concerns before any procedure, believing that an informed patient is a calm patient — and a calm patient is a safer patient.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I feel pain during surgery?
No. Anaesthesia is carefully planned to ensure you feel no pain throughout the procedure. You are continuously monitored.
Is anaesthesia dangerous?
Modern anaesthesia is very safe. A thorough pre-operative evaluation helps identify and minimise any individual risks significantly.
What is the difference between spinal and general anaesthesia?
Spinal numbs only the lower body while you remain awake or lightly sedated. General anaesthesia puts you fully to sleep. The right choice depends on your surgery and health.
Can I eat or drink before surgery?
Usually no food or water for 6–8 hours before the procedure. Dr. Meghana will give you specific instructions based on your case.
Will I wake up during surgery?
This is extremely rare. Anaesthesia depth is carefully and continuously monitored throughout the procedure.
What are common side effects after anaesthesia?
Mild nausea, slight soreness (after general), or a temporary headache (after spinal) are possible and are proactively managed during recovery.
